New Delhi: Nasseruddin Shah starrer ‘The Coffin Maker’ is ready for an Italian premiere at the 13th River to River Florence Festival that begins November 22, 2013 onwards. The film will also visit Rome between November 29 and December 1, 2013. Directed by debutante Veena Bakshi, it will be competing in the feature film section for the River to River Bitebay Audience Award.
Last year, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan made his presence felt at the festival to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema, and this year, yet another legendary actor, Nasseruddin Shah, will grace the red carpet. ‘The Coffin Maker’ is set against the authentic and seductive spirit of a Goan Village. It is a thought provoking story about a reluctant Coffin Maker who learns about life from a very unusual and mysterious source. Randeep Hooda also features in a lead role in the film and Nasseruddin’s real life partner Ratna Pathak Shah will be seen playing his catholic wife named Isabella. Besides the high concept content that attracted Nasseruddin and Randeep Hooda, every single character in the film is real as Ratna Pathak Shah as Isabella, Benjamin Gilani, Amit Sial, Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal, Shilpa Shukla have substantially contributed in the excellence of its execution, under the direction and vision of Veena Bakshi.
