Indore: Renowned filmmaker M S Sathyu today said that banning the Pakistani artistes from performing in India won't help in resolving the Indo-Pak differences.
"For the last couple of decades, eminent music directors and artistes are coming here from Pakistan. But now some people are saying that they won't be allowed to come to India," said Sathyu, who was here to participate in the Indian People's Theatre Association's convention.
"This won't end the differences between India and Pakistan," the 86-year-old "Garam Hava" director told reporters here.
Asked whether he wished to invite Pakistani artists to IPTA convention, he said, "Why not? They should certainly be invited to such functions."
Meanwhile, the local writer Vineet Tiwari who is involved in the organisation of IPTA convention said they had invited the Pakistani musician Taimur Rahman after getting due clearances from the authorities. But Rahman couldn't make it as he sustained a fracture to his hand.
The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association has passed a resolution to ban the Pakistani actors in the wake of the Uri terror attack and the surgical strike by Indian Army in the Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir.
