Clean India campaign: PM Narendra Modi lauds Priyanka Chopra for her effort

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is mighty impressed with Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for her contribution towards his initiative - 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' or the 'Clean India Campaign' which was launched on Gandhi Jayanti.

The PM had nominated 8 distinguished personalities from various fields and the cast of 'Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma' to take part in the campaign. The former Miss World was among the first eight celebrities to be nominated by the PM.

PM Modi took to twitter to congratulate Priyanka and appreciate her contribution towards India's biggest cleanliness drive.

He tweeted:

Priyanka led a dedicated team exclusively for the clean up process in a slum that had heaps of garbage and took up the challenge of modifying the same.

As a part of her contribution she said that the idea is not only to clean up the place but to rehabilitate families that live amidst the heaps of garbage.

Great going girl. That's the way forward.
