Fans to gift Bachchan 68-pound cake on birthday

The screen icon will be gifted a 68-pound cake along with a painting of his parents.

New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan is turning 68 this October 11 and members from a city fan club are going all the way to Mumbai to gift the megastar with a 68-pound cake to mark his birthday.

The screen icon will also be gifted a painting of his parents alongwith the cake. "Members of Amitabh Bachchan fan club had requested the megastar to allow them to gift a 68 pound cake and a painting based on decades old picture of Big B`s parents at his residence on October 11 which he has accepted," director of the club M A Javed Ansari said. He said that Bachchan had written back to the club inviting them to Mumbai. "Amitabh in his letter said memory of his father and mother were associated with this city and that we wanted to set up a museum of his picture showed our love towards him," Ansari said. A five-member delegation of the club will leave today and would meet the Big B on his birthday. The member will present him the cake and the painting showing a Harivansh Rai and Teji Bachchan way back in 1945, he added. "This picture was taken when Amitabh was only three years old," he said. PTI
