I judge myself from my personal growth, says Shruti Hassan

Mumbai: Shruti Hassan is yet to find success in Bollywood but the actress, who will be next seen in Prabhudeva`s `Ramaiya Vastavaiya`, says she is not disheartened by failures.
Shruti made her debut in Hindi films with a cameo appearance in her father Kamal Hassan`s `Hey Ram` in 2000. Later, she was seen in a full-fledged role in `Luck` (2009) and then in Madhur Bhandarkar`s `Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji` (2011). Unfortunately both the films did not do well.
"Success is lovely for everybody. A hit is something that everybody wants. But ultimately all these things are not in your control. So you learn to dissociate from that. I judge myself from my own personal growth of what I can see on screen," Shruti said in an interview here. The 27-year-old feels there is no formula for success. "There is no formula (to success) I try to improvise and do better. The film working or not is not in my hands. But that does not matter... You keep working hard. If I would have spend time thinking what went wrong or not then I would have been a talent manger and not an actor," she said. The actress will be seen opposite newcomer Girish Kumar in `Ramaiya Vastavaiya` and she insists it is not her comeback film . "It is not my comeback film. Looking at the chronology of the films that I did here people are saying it is my comeback Hindi movie. But it is nothing of that sort. I don`t look at it as my comeback film and it does not bother me," she said. "There were offers that came my way for Hindi films but I had commitments down South and I was not that excited to be part of those things. I was logistically not able to take up (Hindi films)," she said. Speaking about her role in the film, Shruti said, "The character is sweet and the story revolves around me." The film is a remake of Prabhudeva`s directorial debut in Telugu `Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana` and releases on July 19. PTI
