Mumbai: Two of the colossal giants of the Hindi Film Industry today, Mahesh Bhatt and Subhash Ghai, wouldn’t be very happy with what this man has to say. Adman, news TV pundit and actor Suhel Seth has gone an extra mile as far as accusing people is concerned, and has accused Mahesh Bhatt and Subhash Ghai of unethical practices – in other words – in Seth’s words, rather – of casting couch.
In a video uploaded on the internet on May 16, the reputed columnist is seen talking about his being mighty impressed with Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’. He adds that Vidya Balan is not the only reason he loved the movie, but he was amazed with the way the film had been shot and its brilliant plot.
After he lauds Sujoy Ghosh for the film, he goes ahead and adds, “My appeal to all the Mahesh Bhatts and Subhash Ghais and all the titans would be to get off your casting couch - you`ve been there, done her - and start investing in people who can write good scripts.”
Though Mahesh Bhatt and Subhash Ghai have both denied Suhel’s claims, what remains to be seen is whether or not there is any truth in it. Accusing two gargantuan-status filmmakers of an evil that has been rampant in the Hindi film industry is not worth being ignored, perhaps. We hope the truth prevails!
