New York: Demi Moore’s meltdown could have been triggered by the actress’ distress over the death of her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, according to reports. According to a website, the 49-year-old was visibly upset at the Cape Cod, Mass. funeral in December, for 70-year-old Pattsy Rugg, a renowned substance abuse counsellor.
Rugg had become a kind of a mother figure for Moore, suggests Cape Cod on Thursday, which reports that the star once even introduced her as “mom,” a news channel has reported. Her own mom, Virginia Guynes, was never so supportive. Moore, who was rushed to Sherman Oaks Hospital on Monday after reportedly sniffing whip-its, a low-rent party drug, was released on Thursday. Sources have told that the actress was apparently holding a birthday party for friend Heather Perry and was acting “pretty hyper” all night. ANI
