Washington: A court has ruled that the man, who is accused of stalking Paris Hilton, should stand trial for his “scary” actions towards the socialite.
Superior Court Judge Jessica Silvers said that James Rainford seemed to be obsessed with Hilton and his alleged behaviour was enough to give the TV personality a terrible time.
“It’s very clear from all these incidents that you are obsessed with Paris Hilton. This is more personal, and it is scary,” CBS News quoted Silvers as telling Rainford after a 90-minute hearing.
However, Rainford, 36, did not react after the ruling and was spotted only speaking quietly with his attorney.
He has been arrested a couple of times outside Hilton’s home, after being convicted of battery against her former boyfriend Cy Waits, who was hit outside a courthouse earlier this year.
He will remain in jail in lieu of 150,000 dollars bail, and he was told to return to court on August 29 for an arraignment. No trial date has been set.
