Hilton`s spendings angers Australians

New York, Dec 31: Socialite Paris Hilton angered Australians by spending almost 140 bucks a minute in a boutique there, but Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard said it was good for tourism.

Social workers in Australia told the media that Hilton`s free spending was "obscene". Tmz.com reports that Hilton got slammed in the press for spending close to $4,000 at the Wayne Cooper boutique for 40 minutes. But Gillard said: "I`m obviously not as well practised at shopping as Ms. Hilton is, but Australia`s a great place to do it." IANS
