Stars turn heads in risque outfits at Grammy red carpet

Los Angeles: White and Black were the dominant colours at the Grammy red carpet but it was Madonna, who stole the show with her matador's costume inspired black Givenchy minidress that she paired with a veil and thigh-high boots.

Madonna, 56, briefly flashed her derriere at the red carpet while Rihanna, 26 stood out in her massive pink gown by Giambattista Valli that drowned her tiny frame.

Most of the celebrities opted for black be it Beyonce in a lace Proenza Schouler gown, Gwen Stefani in a black Versace jumpsuit or Miley Cyrus in her skin-baring gown and Nicki Minaj in a black Tom Ford gown. Jessie J looked stunning in a black sheer gown.

Metallics and white also made their presence felt at the red carpet while Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen opted for a brighter look.

Perry walked the red carpet in a Zuhair Murad number, Teigen chose skin-tight Emilio Pucci, Grande a Versace number and Hudson a short white Tom Ford dress.

Kardashian opted for a golden Jean-Paul Gaultier that looked like it may come off any moment but found approval from her fashion designer-musician husband Kanye West.

Lady Gaga chose to show her cleavage and some legs in a simple silver gown but she suffered a wardrobe malfunction when the outfit by Brandon Maxwell slipped from the top.

Taylor Swift decided to buck the usual trend with her blue-green Elie Saab gown that had a slit in the front. She paired it with fuchsia heels.

Charli XCX appeared in a pink Moschino tux with a pink fur couture gown. Iggy Azalea, too, wore a blue custom Armani number.

Sam Smith, who walked away with four trophies, made an appearance in a traditional black tux but he went for a quick change by swapping his black look for a red suit to accept his trophy.
Rita Ora shone in a silver shimmer gown that she paired with her platinum blonde hair.
