Matt Damon produces and narrates documentary `Running the Sahara`

Los Angeles, Mar 10: Matt Damon served as executive producer on "Running the Sahara," a documentary that follows three ultra-marathoners as they attempt to become the first people to run across the Sahara Desert, which spans six countries. Director James Moll and his small film crew tracked the runners across the desert, capturing their incredible journey on camera, and making some surprising revelations of their own: for example, that Africa`s water shortage is considerably worse than they imagined.

Damon said, "We saw firsthand the effects of one of the largest public health issues of our time -- the world water crisis which is at its worst in Africa." By the time Damon returned home, he and the film`s production team created H2OAfrica, which aims to raise awareness about Africa`s water needs and support clean-water programs.
