Mumbai: The TAM rating for Week 18 is out and so is the verdict on 3 dance reality shows launched simultaneously on Zee TV, Star Plus & Colors. With a phenomenal rating of 6.7 TVR for its very first audition episode, Zee TV’s DID L’il Masters has left competing shows ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom’ & ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ panting for breath at 4.4 TVR and 2.4 TVR respectively. The exceptional rating of 6.7 TVR for the pilot episode of the dance reality show makes it the BIGGEST TV show opening of the year! And the good news for Zee TV doesn’t end here. For the third consecutive week, Zee TV’s ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ reigns supreme on the weekday 8 PM slot with a consistently high rating of 4.2 TVR, towering over Colors’ ‘Balika Vadhu’ which stands at a dismal 3.3 TVR and ‘Behnein’ on Star Plus at a measly 2.5 TVR. Speaking on the grand opening, Nitin Vaidya, Business Head, ZEE TV & COO- ZEEL said, “We are overwhelmed by the roaring response our viewers have given to the very first episode of DID L’il Masters. After 2 immensely successful seasons of Lux Dance India Dance, our dance platform has evolved to attain a cult following across the country. Since we were extremely confident about DID Li’l Masters and had full conviction in its format, we decided to keep out of the marketing clutter generated by the competition. Instead, we leveraged on the equity of the brand and just let our content do the talking. After all, one cannot go wrong with superlative talent hand-picked from every nook and corner of the country, judges and mentors who are adept at extracting the best from the kids and anchors who set just the right mood for the audience to relish the show.” After clinching ‘Best Entertainer of the Year, Television’ award at the prestigious FICCI Frames earlier this year, ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ is on a roll with a consistently upward-moving graph of viewership figures. Jhansi Ki Rani, as a show, has several factors going for it. Sharp-featured Ulka Gupta is impressive as the strong, feisty, spirited Manu who will grow up to be the one woman who epitomizes the strength of an Indian woman. Manu has fast become a role model for scores of young girls across the country, inspiring them to stand up for themselves and fight injustice. Add to that the research that has gone into recreating an era bygone, the authenticity retained by the story, the apt casting of all characters, the sheer opulence of the sets coupled with superlative production values and you have a riveting show that families across the country get instantly hooked onto! Speaking on beating the competition hollow in the 8 PM slot for 3 consecutive weeks, Nitin Vaidya, Business Head, ZEE TV & COO- ZEEL said, “We are extremely pleased to note that Jhansi Ki Rani has worked so well as a show. In times when the idea of historical shows was discouraged, Zee TV took the initiative to make a difference with Jhansi Ki Rani. It is heartening to know that our conviction in the concept of the show has borne fruit.”
