Matthew Perry to write and produce `The Odd Couple` remake

London: Actor Matthew Perry is all set to co-write and produce a remake of 1970s TV comedy `The Odd Couple`.

Perry will team up with Danny Jacobson for the CBS project, which is based on the Broadway play by Neil Simon, reported Digital Spy. The former `Friends` star is also set to star in the sitcom as Oscar Madison, the mismatched and disorganised roommate of neat freak Felix Ungar. Executive producers for the reboot are expected to include Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum as well as Perry and Jacobson. Perry most recently appeared in NBC`s `Go On`, but the show was cancelled after just one season in May this year.
