New Delhi: Here’s some good news for music lovers across the globe. India’s oldest singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ will be back on Zee TV after a hiatus of two years in an altogether new avatar. Scheduled for a launch on 29th September, the 2012 chapter of the super hit TV show has surprises in store aplenty.
Bollywood music composer duo Sajid-Wajid and Rock band Indian Ocean member Rahul Ram will be judging this edition of the show. At a press conference held in the city, the judges spoke about the newer format of the show which promises to be a great treat to music lovers of all age groups, ethnicity and nationality.
Unlike a regular format that primarily caters to making the contestants sing Bollywood songs, the new version of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ will see them sing songs in an unconventional way that has been never heard before.
Rahul Ram will be making his debut on TV for the first time ever as a judge on a singing reality show. It would be interesting to see how a rock band performer and typically commercial Sajid-Wajid mentor the contestants, for the kind of music they are into producing are poles apart.
According to Sajid-Wajid, the show wouldn’t have just one winner and the viewers too would get an opportunity to evaluate the performances of the contestants this time around. Videos of the performances will be uploaded online and a contestant’s entry will depend on the amount of traffic/likes the video generates. So that suffices the fact that the latest edition of show has something really different up its sleeves.
So all those who were waiting to see their favourite show back on television, may now rejoice. You may reserve your time for the show that will reach your drawing rooms from 29th September, every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm.
