Mumbai: Akshay Kumar was elated when he announced he would be part of the sequel to ‘Robot’, a film starring megastar Rajinikanth as the protagonist. It was indeed a big moment for the Khiladi superstar and his fans!

Interestingly, Akki would be playing the main villain in the film. And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, then leading lady Amy Jackson recommended Akki’s name to filmmaker Shankar.

It so happened that the director was not able to zero in on a name to essay the role of the antagonist in the film. Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger was being considered for the role, but things didn’t materialise. Even Aamir Khan’s name had cropped up, but it didn’t work out.

Amy, who was recommended by Akki for ‘Singh Is Bliing’, decided to return favour to Akki by suggesting his name for the role, reports suggest.
