Mumbai: Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur is hopeful that the upcoming film "Chef", starring Saif Ali Khan, will project the lives of food experts in good way.
"Chef", a 2014 American comedy-drama, written produced and directed by Jon Favreau, is now set get an Indian adaptation.
"Airlift" director Raja Krishna Menon will helm the project in Hindi with Saif in the lead.
"It's a great news that 'Chef' is being made in Hindi. I am sure it will be a good movie and would project the profession of food and the lives of chefs in great light.
"Food is a serious business and a flourishing career as well, something that was not even considered a decade back," Kunal told PTI.
Kunal, who was a judge for the first three seasons of "MasterChef India", is back on season five. He will be joined by chefs Vikas Khanna and Zorawar Kalra.
The celebrity chef feels "Masterchef India" is one of the biggest platforms on Indian TV for food and cooking.
"It's not just a food show, it's a talent show. This is my fourth season and there is lots I have learnt - hidden recipes, untold stories of food and culture, simple unique techniques, food presentation skills and much more," he said.
"There is so much talent out there. As the show travels through different cities and locations, I have got a chance to learn the best of local cuisines through the show," he added.
Kunal reveals that this year, the show aims to change the way cooking is perceived in India.
"Gear up for a game of 'Glocal' recipes, exotic destinations, tough challenges and the most demanding judges for the fifth season of 'MasterChef India'. After all, it (cooking) is not just a hobby but a journey to win the title of the best culinary artist in the country. Food is the real hero in Season 5," he said.
The celebrity chef thinks contestants on the show should have the ability to innovate and experiment with ingredients.
To be aired on Star Plus channel, "Masterchef India" will start from October 1.
