Mahira Khan not in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’? Director Rahul Dholakia has something to say

Mumbai: Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia seems to have had enough of rumours about Pakistani artist Mahira Khan’s presence in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ which is slated to release during Republic Day next year.

Speculations were rife that the makers of the film were planning to replace Mahira Khan with an Indian actress following pressure from various quarters. But Dholakia, without naming anyone, tweeted the following on Sunday night:

"Cooker ki saat seeti Baj chuki hai, aag dena bandh kar" (not a line from Raees, I has better dialogues) (sic).”

However, there has been no official confirmation from the producers of the film.

Jointly produced by Gauri Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Raees’ was initially slated to release on Eid this year. The SRK starrer would have clashed with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’, but the big fight at the Box Office was averted by the makers of ‘Raees’.

Set in the backdrop of Gujarat in 1980s, film which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui is based on the life of a bootlegger named Raees (essayed by SRK).
