Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ has landed in trouble yet again. Son of Abdul Latif - Mustak Ahmed Abdul Latif Shaikh- has reportedly sent a legal notice to the Bollywood superstar after the latter decided to distance himself from him.

Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’ is based on Abdul Latif, an alleged gangster from Gujarat. Latif’s son Mustak Ahmed had been associated with the film since its inception. According to a report in DNA, SRK had visited Gujarat at least twice to meet Mustak at the latter’s invitation.

SRK had visited Mustak to understand the character of Abdul Latif.

“At the outset, Raees was being made with Mustak’s active involvement. He provided inputs and kept track of the shooting to ensure the film was going smoothly,” DNA a source as saying.

Later apparently, SRK decided to distance himself from Mustak, who reportedly has close association with the ruling BJP government.

“When Shah Rukh realised his meetings with Latif were being given political overtones, he decided to keep a distance. When Mustak invited Shah Rukh again, the actor didn’t respond. This incensed Mustak who felt affronted by the star’s snub and decided to dissociate from the project,” the source added.
