Trouble for Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Bajirao Mastani’?

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus – Bajirao Mastani – starring Ranveer Singh as Bajirao, Deepika Padukone as Mastani and Priyanka Chopra as Kashibhai, has landed in trouble.

A Facebook Page titled ‘Ban the Movie Bajirao Mastani’ has alleged that the filmmaker has misinterpreted facts and distorted history in the name of cinematic liberty and creative freedom.

The creator of the page believes, “this movie is purely insulting the glorious History of Shri Bajirao Peshwa”.

The creator has also posted a copy of a letter addressed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asking him to pass the film after verifying all the facts associated with history.

In the letter, the complainant has said that the ‘Pinga’ song featuring Deepika Padukone as Mastani and Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai is misleading. The two historic characters never danced together and showing them together in such a manner on celluloid is no acceptable.
