Washington DC: Calvin Harris vaguely cleared the air just when his fans were beginning to heat up the social media with speculations that the Scottish DJ's latest song, 'My Way' is an attempt to take a jab at his breakup with ex-flame Taylor Swift.

In his new single, the 32-year-old singer poured out bitter feelings about "the one thing in my way" but it turns out that he got the idea for the song long before meeting his former flame, reports Hollywood Life.

"I thought of the concept years ago when I left [grocery store] Safeway," he revealed, adding, "I think it's like an amalgamation of events in my life since maybe the past 10 years."

Opening up about his struggles of the past on 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest', the record producer admitted that he was with 'My Way' only trying to put down his story about the helpless situation back then.

"When you're stuck in that situation you can't see that, you don't think you're going to become anything. That was just a concept in the back of my mind, but I had no idea how to put that into words until very recently," he shared.

"It could be a job that you hate, and then you quit the job then life is awesome. It could be about a relationship and you get rid of the girl or the guy then life is awesome," he concluded.
