Chris Martin's surprise performance at cancer hospital

London: Rocker Chris Martin stopped by a cancer treatment centre in Manchester and performed with YOU 62, the hospital's charity band consisting of staff and patients from the Young Oncology Unit.

Coldplay later gave the hospital band a shout out during their performance of "The Scientist" at Manchester's Etihad Stadium, reported Digital Spy.

"Earlier today we saw another young band called YOU 62 and they played 'The Scientist' for us," said Martin.

"These are some kids that have been through some really heavy stuff in their lives. One of the best things I ever saw was them playing our song back to us. I want to dedicate this to them and send it out to all those kids who are going through crazy stuff."
