Chennai: ‘Nanban’ has kept the Box Office busy since Pongal and the film has roared success even overseas. The blockbuster directed by Shankar is shattering all records and is making news every single day. And the one responsible for the film’s success, Vijay is joyous yet calm and composed with least pride of making the Hindi remake of ‘3 Idiots’ a super-hit.
The humble actor while addressing reporters at a press conference said, “`Nanban` was director Shankar`s film and not my film. I should say the script was the hero of the film. I have done quite a few films in which there have been quite a lot of punch dialogues and action sequences. However, in this film, I felt the script did everything a hero would do. I was just a part of a good film."
Expressing how he and his co-stars have come closer with the completion of the film, the Ilaya Thalapathy of Tamil Cinema said, “Shooting for `Nanban` was completely a new experience. Jiiva and Srikanth have become such good friends that at the end of shooting, we shared a great bond.”
‘Nanban’ is very close to Vijay’s heart. He said, “The story is about the system of education. I truly believe that everyone needs to do what they like. If I had not followed my heart, I would not have become an actor now. That`s the message conveyed in this film.”
