Mumbai: Marathi filmmaker Pramod Joshi, who is looking forward to the release of his first Hindi film "Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein", feels that regional cinema is growing and coming at par with Bollywood.
"Regional cinema has grown a lot. The ethos and presentation of regional cinema has changed in terms of production, designs, budget and other technicalities. It is is slowly coming at par with Hindi cinema," Joshi told IANS during a promotional event here.
"Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein" tells the tale of a successful IT professional (Sachin Khedekar). He comes across a blind man (Anupam Kher), who makes him understand the importance of life.
The film will be released in Hindi and Marathi languages April 12.
"I like the combination of biligual film because of just one reason - regional cinema is always content oriented, while Hindi cinema is all about presentation and package. And since `Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein` is a bilingual, it has got the design of Hindi cinema and content of regional cinema.
