Los Angeles: Taylor Swift, who is often criticised for referencing her past relationships and boyfriends in her songs, says that the process helps her feel better.
The 23-year-old has earned the moniker of `serial-dater` for romancing a series of famous men.
She is said to be single after her most recent split from One Direction`s Harry Styles, who she mocked during her opening act at the Grammys.
Swift says the song-writing process helps her understand her pain and get over it.
"To me it`s just writing songs the way I always have. It`s me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn`t understand, writing a song, and understanding it better," she said in an interview to Elle magazine.
"If people want to dissect the lyrics, that`s their right, but it`s all coming from the exact same place as where I started. It`s just something I do to feel better," she added.
Her bitter lyrics notwithstanding, Swift says she does not get angry with her former lovers.
"I don`t think I`ve ever yelled at an ex-boyfriend. Ever. I`m not a yeller. I`m not a fit thrower. If something is done, it`s done."
Despite having a string of famous ex-lovers to her credit, Swift denies that she chases men.
"I`m sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I`m chasing somebody who doesn`t like me as much as I like him ? people love that angle on me. They`re like `Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys. I never chase boys. They don`t like it!`"
Swift has dated Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Coner Kennedy and Harry Styles in the past. Mayer was the only ex-flame who publicly blasted the singer for the song on him.
