New Delhi: With an eye on voters in Gujarat, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will begin his three-day campaign from state's Saurashtra region on Monday.
According to reports, the Congress no. 2 will visit the famous Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka and offer prayers there.
The Gandhi scion will then meet workers and supporters at Bhatiya village.
He will hold a discussion with elected panchayat representatives at Vadtra Village in Dwarka district, and meet farmers, fishermen, and traders also.
He will then proceed to Jamnagar town where he will make a night halt.
On September 26, Gandhi will visit towns such as Dhrol and Tankara by road before reaching Rajkot.
He will interact with traders and industrialists after reaching Rajkot in the afternoon.
''Rahul Gandhi will make a night stay in Rajkot. The next morning he will cover Chotila, Jasdan, Virpur, Jetpur and other towns before concluding the campaign at Khodaldham,” a senior party leader was quoted as saying by PTI.
The Congress is out of power in the BJP-ruled Gujarat for nearly two decades. The main opposition party saw desertions by several of its MLAs ahead of the August 8 Rajya Sabha polls.
The home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to go to the polls by the year-end.
