Chetan Bhagat says he never apologised to ‘3 Idiots’ team

Mumbai: Chetan Bhagat is once again rambling about ‘3 Idiots’! The hurt author, who is said to have apologized to the ‘3 Idiots’ team after a controversy erupted over unfair treatment meted out to the author, said that his apologies were directed to his fans and not to the team of the film. Interacting with students of a coaching institute in Hyderabad, Chetan said, “I had, in fact, said sorry to all my fans and readers who were disturbed by the controversy over my not getting due credit for the story of the film.” “I did not want my fans to be upset by all that was happening; hence, I apologized,” the author of bestseller ‘Five Point Someone’ said. Bhagat further said that he did not want to tarnish the image of Aamir Khan and that’s why he had publicly said that he loves him. “I had thousands of my fans writing to me to say that they had started hating Aamir because of the controversy,” Bhagat said. “But I have no problems with Aamir. So I said publicly that I loved Aamir Khan.” The author has reportedly bought a home close to Aamir Khan’s place. Earlier, Bhagat had criticised the team for not giving him due credit for the film ‘3 Idiots’, which is reportedly based on ‘Five Point Someone’. He had taken to task Raj Kumar Hirani as well as producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, for ignoring his contribution. However, it was later reported that Bhagat has offered his apologies for the entire issue.
