New Bengali music TV channel launched

Kolkata: A new music channel has been launched in Kolkata which will exclusively focus on Bengali music.

Coming from the stable of the Rose Valley Group, the new music channel, named `Dhoom`, was launched last night. "The music channel boasts a new packaging and presentation along with high definition graphics. Music is the soul of the channel," Srijit Halder, programming head of the channel, said after the launch. Keeping a dash of humour in its shows, the channel will have six live animated characters who will entertain the viewers with comic acts. "In our surveys we have found out that people in the city want just good music and nothing else. So our focus will be right there," Haldar said. PTI
