Rosie O’Donnell relives ‘miracle’ of surviving after heart attack

New York: American comedian Rosie O’Donnell has revealed that her being alive is a miracle, as she delayed calling the emergency number after diagnosing herself as having a heart attack.

The 50-year-old actress said that her health problems began on August 14 after she helped “an enormous woman,” who was struggling to get out of her car in a parking lot in Nyack, New York. “A few hours later my body hurt/ i had an ache in my chest,” the New York Daily News quoted her as writing on her blog,. “Both my arms were sore/everything felt bruised,” she wrote. The ‘Flintstones’ star, revealed that she went on with her day despite feeling persistent pain. “I became nauseous/my skin was clammy. I was very very hot/I threw up. “Maybe this is a heart attack. I googled womens heart attack symptoms/I had many of them/but really? - I thought – naaaa,” she wrote. O’Donnell said she then took aspirin, but still didn’t call 911. The next day, she visited her cardiologist’s office and underwent an EKG and was sent to the hospital, where she had a stent inserted and doctors found that her coronary artery had been 99 percent blocked, the paper said. “I am lucky to be here. Know the symptoms ladies/listen to the voice inside/the one we all so easily ignore/ CALL 911/save urself,” she wrote. ANI
