When Sly auditioned for ‘Star Wars’

Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he did try out for the part of ‘Star Wars’ hero Han Solo but failed to impress the director.

London: Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he did try out for the part of ‘Star Wars’ hero Han Solo but failed to impress the director. The Rambo star, 64, auditioned to play the lovable rogue before hitting the Hollywood big time.
But Sly - known for his mumbling - failed to impress director George Lucas, who went on to pick Harrison Ford. The actor talked about his 1975 audition failure for the first time in an Internet chat with movie fans, reports the Sun. Asked about trying out for Solo, he said: "Yes, as a matter of fact I did and it didn`t meet with much approval. When I stood in front of George Lucas he didn`t look at me once, obviously being very shy.” "Then I said, `Well obviously I`m not the right type`. But it all worked out for the best since I don`t look good in Spandex holding a ray gun." But Stallone did not have to wait long for his own big break. His film Rocky became overnight sensation just months later and earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay. ANI
