Mumbai, March 08: The 54th Filmfare Awards unfolded with enough glitter and glamour to fill to the brim another year’s slot of the oldest ceremony appreciating the efforts in Bollywood. Hosted by the hottest young stars of Bollywood Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, it reminded one of the Shah Rukh - Saif duo who immortalised ‘Kantaben’. The reason was not so much of ‘dostana’ between Ranbir and Imran, as the introductuction by Karan Johar! He had the evening rolling in spirit with his ‘Dostana’ take on every movie. Lamenting for being unfairly singled out for the thrashing of his flick ‘Dostana’, he dragged in ‘Ghajini’, where ‘one man with his chest puffed and tight pants jumps screaming upon strange men. And, the next morning, like any typical man, he can’t remember a thing!’
Then ‘A Wednesday’ - one male keeps calling up another and demanding “chaar aur mard!”. ‘Rock On’ - four boys jump shirtless into a pond and play their instrument. As if these side-splitting gags were not enough, he did bring in SRK-starrer ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ with the Sumo wrestler! Then the stage was taken up by the youngest host ever in the history of Filmfare Awards – Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. When the novices started the marathon of aashirvaad gathering, the stellar crowd was in splits. To get a taste of the gags by the young duo, here is a list of the films they composed: ‘Jawaani ka Noor’ by Anil Kapoor ‘Safedi Ki Muskaan’ by Abbas Mustan ‘Blog Padhe Hindustan’ by Aamir Khan ‘Poore hue Armaan’ by AR Rahman ‘Acting se katti, cricket se batti’ by Shilpa Shetty ‘Lucky Hai Indian Soil’ by Danny Boyle Haseenaon pe no Rehem’ by John Abraham But the wittiest was the question to Abhishek, “I loved Delhi-6, magar Part 1 to 5 kidhar hai?!” With the program being dotted with performances from the hottest stars, it was a rocking event. Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra were among the performers who made the evening with a verve.
