New Delhi: New York-based Indian filmmaker Rohit Gupta`s "Life! Camera Action..." has been invited for screening and world premiere at the Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival 2010 in New York.
"Life! Camera Action…" is a story of Reina, a young Indian-American woman who sets off to pursue a career in filmmaking against the wishes of her parents. The film will have its world premiere Nov 14.
"We are delighted to screen Rohit`s film at the 10th annual MIAAC Film Festival. It is a sensitive film about a filmmaker, perhaps reflecting the lives of many other participants of our festival, as well as showing the audience life behind the camera as they view it from the front," Aroon Shivadasani, executive director of the festival, said in a press statement.
The film was shot in a week and a half in New York and New Jersey with a crew of two people and a shoe-string budget.
Shot in three different languages - English, Hindi and Punjabi, it was written by the New York-based Gupta and Washington-based screenwriter and lyricist Amanda Sodhi.
"Life! Camera Action…" is slated to be released in 2011.
