Jilted lover stabs girls to death, then consumes poison and dies

Hyderabad: In a shocking case, a jilted lover first stabbed a woman to death and later committed suicide consumed poison. 

The incident took place in a government-run primary school in Telangana`s Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Saturday.

Twenty-six-year V. Srinivas Rao had proposed marriage to his 24-year-old relative – U Pravalika, who turned him down. 

The woman's parents were also against the match. 

Soon, after Pravalika got engaged to be married to another youth. 

Enraged over this, Rao visited the school in Nemalipeta's Dammapeta block, where Pravalika was taking classes.

Rao attacked Pravalika with a knife and repeatedly stabbed her.

The woman died on spot, claimed eye-witnesses. 

Immediately after, before others could react, Rao took out a bottle of poison and consumed it.

He too succumbed on the spot.

Pravalika was staying in Ashwaraopet in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and was working as `vidya volunteer` in Nemalipeta school.

Srinivas Rao bore a grudge and killed her in a pre-planned manner, said the police.
