India and the US on Monday reiterated their commitment to cooperate in the fight against international terrorism even as the two sides agreed to boost economic cooperation following the first ever meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump and his wife Melania accorded a warm red carpet welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House.
After the delegation-level talks, the two leaders are expected to deliver joint statements to the media between 2.40 am and 3 am.
After the one-on-one meeting with Trump, an hour-long delegation-level talks - from 1:40 am to 2:40 am - between the two countries are scheduled to take place in the cabinet room of the White House.
During the meeting, both leaders will discuss ongoing cooperation, including counter-terrorism, defence partnership in the Indo-Pacific region, global cooperation, burden-sharing, trade, law enforcement, and energy, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said two days ago.
PM Modi and President Trump are scheduled to meet at 1:20 am IST for a one-on-one at the White House's Oval Office. The meeting is expected to last for about 20 minutes.
After being received by Trump and the First Lady in the South Portico of the White House, the two leaders are expected to have a one-on-one meeting in the Oval Office.
US First Lady Melania Trump would join President Donald Trump to welcome the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House today.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson noted the Indian Prime Minister's visit will strengthen ties between the United States and India and advance our common interest in fighting terrorism, promoting economic growth and prosperity, and expanding security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, a State Department spokesperson said.
The meeting between Mattis and Prime Minister Modi came ahead of the latter's maiden meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
The meeting comes amid reports that America will sell 22 Guardian drones to India to bolster its surveillance and intelligence gathering capabilities.
