Uttarakhand Assembly Election Result 2022: When and where to watch LIVE counting of votes in U'khand

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to announce the results for the Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2022 on Thursday (March 10)

The counting of votes will begin by the Election Commission of India at 8 am and the postal ballots will be counted first and then the votes polled in the EVMs will be taken up.

Election Commission will start releasing result trends from 8 am onwards on its website - https://eci.gov.in/ and app

The results for all the 70 Assembly constituencies spread across Uttarakhand will be announced tomorrow.

The state witnessed a close contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress.

In the 70-member house, 36 is the majority mark. The BJP had won 57 seats in the 2017 polls marginalising the Congress but the exit polls suggest a loss for the saffron party this time.

As Zee News Exit polls, the party is likely to get 25 seats this time, while Congress is expected to lead with 35-40 seats.

Among the key candidates are the chief minister and BJP leader Pushkar Singh Dhami from the Khatima seat, Harish Rawat from the Lalkuwa seat and Col Ajay Kothiyal from the Gangotri seat.

The hill state went to polling in a single phase on February 14.
