Jammu and Kashmir: Four killed as vehicle skids off road

The accident occurred on Suigwari-Chirala road near Puneja village, 22 kms from from Doda town.

Jammu: Four persons were killed and nine seriously injured as a vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The accident occurred on Suigwari-Chirala road near Puneja village, 22 kms from from Doda town.

The vehicle carrying 13 passengers was on its way to Chirala from Pul Doda when the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into 150-feet deep gorge, police officials said.

"Locals along with policemen immediately reached the spot and rescued all trapped passengers from the badly damaged vehicle and shifted them to district hospital Doda, where doctors declared four of them as brought dead including he driver", the officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Mohd Yousaf Khan (80), Om Prakash (30), Fazal Din and Punjab Singh — all belonging to Doda.
