Jammu: The Pakistani troops on Wednesday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ceasefires were violated in Dhar and Kangagali areas of Manjakote in Rajouri.

The Indian Army is strongly retaliating to it and the firing is still on.

The J&K Police tweeted, "Today morning Pakistan violated ceasefire by resorting firing at Dabbi, Nijot & Basoni posts in Balakote Sector Mendhar. Army retaliating."

In Balakote, several cars suffered damages due to continuous firing from across the border, as per ANI. However, there was no loss reported.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government have directed all the schools on the border belt to remain closed in the wake of repeated violations.

Earlier, four civilians, including children, were injured after Pakistan on October 14 initiated indiscriminate firing in Jammu and Kashmir's Bhimber Gali Sector along the Line of Control (LoC).

This unprovoked firing has been continuously witnessed from the Pakistani side across the border, in which many Indian security personnel and civilians have lost their lives.

The ceasefire violations, which amounted to 228 in 2016, have reached 503 this year (till October 5).
