No Lucknow Mahotsav before April 2018 because of board examinations

This was confirmed by District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma.

There’s bad news for the residents of the Uttar Pradesh capital, as the much-awaited Lucknow Mahotsav won’t be organised this year. If reports are to be believed, the next edition of the festival will be organised only by April 2018.

This was confirmed by District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, who said that they would look at organising the Lucknow Mahotsav only after the board examinations were over.

He further said that preparation of at least a month is needed to organise the fest, adding that since it was already postponed, all those willing to participate have now gotten busy with Taj Mahotsav.

According to him, even if attempts are made to complete the formalities by January, there would be UP board, CBSE and ICSE examinations. Therefore, he said, the festival could not be organised before April.

The Lucknow Mahotsav was last deferred in 2015 because of Panchayat elections in the state.
