New Delhi: Launched alongside PM Narendra Modi's Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, the Aam Aadmi Party has now announced its cleanliness drive's next phase days after the party members met with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi officials and apprise them of the state of cleanliness in various parts of the capital city.
The AAP had asked people of Delhi to send pictures along with address of the garabe strewn around their locality and said that it received over 60,000 photographs on social media via Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.
Party leaders said that they were checking what action has been taken on the complaints of the residents and are apprising the civic body about the cleanliness situation on the ground everyday.
AAP in its statement about the next phase of the campaign said, "The party will contact the people whose pictures have been uploaded on its website and and update the report by asking them whether the MCD has addressed their grievance or not."
On its helpline number, the party has asked the people to send their responses. The residents can choose the options — cleaned/not cleaned/don’t know - about their complaints of the littered garbage.
The party in its statement also said that it will send photographs of the situation on the ground to the MCD on daily basis.
The AAP, at the time of the launch of its separate cleanliness drive, had urged Delhiites to come forward and be a part of the drive. The party also intended to discuss problems faced by cleaning staff.
