Delhi varsity contractual employee accuses DUSU president of assault

A contractual worker employed by the Delhi University was on Monday allegedly assaulted by Delhi University Students Union president Satender Awana and six other students, police said.

New Delhi: A contractual worker employed by the Delhi University was on Monday allegedly assaulted by Delhi University Students Union president Satender Awana and six other students, police said.

Victim Vineet Mehta is incharge of the swimming pool at Sri Ram College of Commerce in north Delhi, police said.

"He was assaulted by the DUSU president and few of his friends over the issue of entry to the swimming pool," a senior police official told IANS.

He said police is probing the matter after receiving a complaint.

Mehta said Awana was accompanied by six to seven unidentified students when he was beaten up around 4 p.m.
