JNU professor raped by PhD student, accused arrested

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) female professor was raped by a student of the same university, reports said on Wednesday.

Reports say that the accused, who is a PhD student in the prestigious university, sexually assaulted the professor after claiming that he was son of a Nepal minister and would help her in job.

A rape case was filed in Vasant Kunj area on February 23.

Based on the complaint, Delhi Police have arrested the 30-year-old accused and will produce him in Patiala House court later today.

The Police is expected to demand for the accused's custody.
