New Delhi: Former Indian cricket skipper Mohammad Azharuddin who was contesting on Congress ticket from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur seat in Rajasthan, lost by 1.34 lakh votes.
BJP candidate Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria emerged victorious with 548179 votes. NPP party`s Jagmohan Meena was placed third with 14, 600 votes.
Azharuddin, the former Indian skipper who played 99 Tests and 334 ODIs, was a sitting Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
