Saharanpur: Congress party`s Lok Sabha candidate from Saharanpur Imran Masood, who was recently arrested for threatening to chop BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi into pieces, on Thursday said that he is confident of his victory since there is no Modi wave here.
Speaking to reporters, the controversial Congress MLA said, “In Saharanpur at least there is no Modi wave. I will win here.”
The Congress MLA also attacked the authorities for delaying the arrest of Modi`s close aide Amit Shah, who made headlines for making the “vote-for-revenge” remark.
Seeking immediate arrest of Shah, Masood said, “Why such double standards? Certainly, Amit Shah must be arrested.”
Shah had come under the Election Commission scanner for asking the voters in Muzaffarnagar to vote against those who had insulted them during the comunal riots in the area last year.
Massod too was arrested after an FIR was lodged against him on charges of hate speech in which he threatened to “chop” Narendra Modi “into pieces” sparking an outrage.
