Abandoned car found in Pathankot, high-alert sounded

 The police have launched a hunt for the occupants of the car.

Pathankot (Punjab): A high alert was sounded in Pathankot district of Punjab and nearby areas after a car was found abandoned near the city.

As per reports, three men were spotted roaming suspiciously in a car in Bamiyal area yesterday night. The locals gave them a chase after which they abandoned the car, in a locked condition, near Farfal village and ran away.

The car with Jammu and Kashmir registration number plate. Senior Superintendent of Police Pathankot Rakesh Kaushal said that the police have launched a hunt for the occupants.

"Once the car is unlocked, we will be able to find details about its occupants,” he added.

Heavily armed terrorists had sneaked into Pathankot on January 2 to attack the IAF base.
