New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying he "does not command public trust" any more.
"The Delhi government has launched a publicity campaign, in which Kejriwal's picture has been replaced by his deputy Manish Sisodia. This proves that Kejriwal himself now understands that he does not command the trust of people," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay told reporters here.
"Kejriwal has accepted he is not in a position to show his face among the people of Delhi," Upadhyay said, adding that the "job of serving the dish of falsehood has been handed over to the Deputy Chief Minister".
The BJP leader said BJP workers have been constantly fighting against a "corrupt" Kejriwal government, pointing to the "recruitment scam and Kejriwal’s involvement in the Delhi Jal Board water tanker scam".
"The Aam Aadmi Party government has broken all records of corruption in Delhi," he said.
"Till a few days back, Kejriwal was proclaiming himself to be the only political leader in the country fighting against the central government. After his Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar's arrest, the Chief Minister has gone missing from Delhi," Upadhyay said.
He asked Kejriwal to speak on Kumar's arrest on corruption charges.
