Kerala CM Chandy to flag off Kochi Metro test run

Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy set to flag off test run of Rs. 51.8 billion Kochi Metro rail on Saturday.

The metro line, Kerala`s first, will span 25 km from Aluva to Pettah across 22 stations, coursing through some of the busiest roads in the city.

The metro is proposed to cut the average travel time for a commuter from nearly 2 hours now to just 40 minutes.
