Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter on Wednesday to pay tribute to freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter on Wednesday to pay tribute to freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai on his 149th birth anniversary.

Modi tweeted, “Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai was a unique personality who was ahead of his time. I salute this proud son of India on his birth anniversary”.

Lala Lajpat Rai, born in 1865, is remembered as the freedom fighter who fought for India's independence against the British rule.
