New Delhi: Sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar, arrested on charges of rape, moved a Delhi court on Tuesday seeking bail.
Special Judge Poonam Chaudhry would on Wednesday hear Kumar's bail plea, which said the MLA has been in custody for nearly two months and the probe in the case is still incomplete.
The AAP Minister was arrested on a complaint filed by a woman, who figured in a video with him.
The plea said the conduct of Kumar since the lodging of FIR against him has been good and unquestionable and he had himself surrendered to the police.
Kumar pleaded that he be allowed to celebrate Diwali with his family.
The former Social Welfare and Women & Child Development Minister in the Delhi government was arrested on September 3 after a woman approached the Sultanpuri police station in North Delhi with a complaint of rape against him.
He was booked under sections 376 (committing rape) and 328 (causing hurt with poison, with an intent to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He was also charged under the Information Technology Act's section 67A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act in electronic form).
The woman had alleged in her complaint that she was sexually harassed by Kumar at his office-cum-residence in the Sultanpuri area of the capital where she had gone to get her ration card made.
