Sheena Bora murder case: Peter Mukerjea booked for murder, destruction of evidence

Mumbai: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a supplementary chargesheet in Sheena Bora murder case and booked Peter Mukerjea in the case.

A report by CNN IBN said that CBI submitted a separate chargesheet in the case today and charged former media baron Peter Mukerjea of murder, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.

On February 12, a special CBI court had rejected Peter's bail plea in the much high-profile murder case.

Peter's wife Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the sensational murder case, was arrested on August 25 last year from Mumbai. Peter, along with other co-accused Sanjeev Khanna and Shyamvar Rai, has been lodged in Arthur Road jail in Mumbai, whereas Indrani is lodged in women's prison in Byculla.

Sheena, Indrani's daughter from an earlier relationship, was allegedly strangled in a car in April 2012. Her body was later burnt and dumped in a forest in adjoining Raigad district.

CBI, which took over the probe from Mumbai police late last year, suspects that financial transactions led to the murder of 24-year-old Sheena.
