'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai': Who is this girl and why is she trending after demonetisation move

New Delhi: Soon after PM Narendra Modi took nation by surprise on Nov 8 by announcing demonetisation of notes of Rs 1000 and Rs 500, some notes with 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai' written on them started trending on various social media websites.

Reportedly, Sonam Gupta's name was found written on several of the currency notes, even on coins.

Several users on social media claim that a jilted lover is trying to malign the image of one Sonam Gupta by circulating such notes.

So far, it is yet to be established that from where this girl's name came and started trending on social media.

Even when the new Rs 2000 came in markets, social media got flooded with notes written 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai' on them.

But, the social media is flooded with the notes and coins with her name written on them.
