Stand together in silence for 2 minutes: PM Modi's appeal on Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Union Minister Dharmendra Pardhan paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to 'Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi on his 68th death anniversary.

He appealed to all the citizens to stand together in silence for two minutes at 11 AM today as a mark of respect towards those who were martyred in India`s freedom struggle.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Union Minister Dharmendra Pardhan also paid homage to the greatest freedom fighter.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had issued a directive that silence should be observed at work and all movement must be stopped throughout the country during the two minutes.
